Catalonia celebrates the eighth edition of the Energy Week from June 4 to 10, coinciding with the European Sustainable Energy Week. In our country, the campaign wants to transmit to the citizens of all the municipalities of Catalonia a new way of thinking and living energy.

In the coming years, energy consumers will go from having a passive role to being at the center of the energy model. A new range of possibilities opens up where citizens can produce their own energy, store it, manage it efficiently and even share it with the community. This is the message of the new edition of the Energy Week that has the motto "You have the energy, you have the power!"

This paper change will occur thanks to the improvement of technologies such as storage batteries or electric vehicle batteries, the decrease in the cost of photovoltaic panels or access to new information technologies that will allow the exchange of energy between individuals.

For all these reasons, it is necessary for Administrations to foster debates where these new roles can be explained, the new services that will be created and the functioning of the energy system with the changes that this new model will entail. Likewise, it is essential that citizens can send their doubts and needs in this direction to the Administration.

During the Energy Week, the organizing entities make available to the Town Councils educational resources, workshops, games and materials to work on energy consumption habits and promote energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy from home, the electric vehicle and in all areas where there is energy expenditure. These activities are scheduled from May 1 to July 30.
